What are Top Mount Bucket Forks?
Top Mount Bucket Forks, often referred to as fork attachments or Over the Bucket Forks, can be used on heavy machinery – including skid steers, backhoes, front end loaders, wheel loaders, telehandlers and similar equipment. This fork attachment is going to offer an easy, effective and cost-conscious way to implement forks on your heavy machinery.
Over the bucket forks are mounted to the top of the bucket, rather than being inserted in the bucket or using clamps. This design will provide a hands-free mounting process that is useful for a variety of tasks. The fast and easy design will also eliminate the need to frequently disconnect and reconnect the forks.
Top Mount Bucket Forks typically have two or more hooks that are welded on top of the bucket. The forks, essentially, slide along a bar that is held by the hooks. This type of setup is designed to evenly distribute the total weight of the load, protecting your machine and bucket from any damage, unlike the bolt-on or clamp-on style Bucket Forks.

1) 8,000 lb. Top Mount Bucket Fork Kit
The 8,000 lb. capacity top mount bucket fork kit has a back height that measures 50 inches. It will fit buckets that measure up to 43 inches, if measuring from the bottom of the cutting edge to the top of the bucket. The shaft is 2 inches x 87 inches long. The eye wall measures at ⅜ of an inch thick. The fork dimensions are 2 inches x 4 inches. This kit has 48-inch and 60-inch fork lengths available. Each kit includes 4 J-Hooks or Case hooks and two retainers that will keep the forks from sliding off the shaft.
2) 6,000 lb. Top Mount Bucket Fork Kit
The 6,000 lb. capacity top mount bucket fork kit has a back height of 44 inches. Buckets that measure up to 38 inches are ideal for this kit. The shaft measures 2 inches x 87 inches long, with an eye wall that is ⅜ of an inch thick. Fork dimensions are measured at 1.75 inches x 4 inches, consisting of 48-inch forks. Each kit will have 4 J-Hooks or Case hooks, with two retainers that keep the forks from sliding off the shaft.
3) 4,500 lb. Top Mount Bucket Fork Kit
The 4,500 lb. capacity top mount bucket fork kit has a back height that measures 44 inches. This kit will fit buckets that measure 38 inches or less. The shaft measures 1.5 inches x 87 inches long. The forks are 1 ¾ inches x 3 inches x 48 inches. Each kit will come with 4 J-Hooks or Case hooks and two retainers that will keep the forks from sliding off the shaft.
4) 2,500 lb. Top Mount Bucket Fork Kit
The 2,500 lb. capacity top mount bucket fork kit has a back height that measures 38 inches. This kit is, especially, ideal for today’s compact tractor bucket forks. It will fit buckets that measure 32 inches or less. The measurement of the shaft is 1 inch x 54 inches long. The forks dimensions are 1.50 inches x 3 inches x 42 inches, with a combined lifting capacity of 2500 lbs. This kit contains forks, a shaft and lynch pins to prevent the forks from sliding off the shaft during operation.
