4 Factors to Determine the Right Bucket Fork Kit for Your Equipment
Select the Correct Bucket Fork Kit
Not every bucket fork kit will be compatible with your equipment, so understanding your tractor’s or equipment’s capabilities is essential in determining which bucket fork kit meets your needs and requirements. Choosing the correct bucket fork can impact your efficiency and productivity, fully utilizing your equipment’s capabilities to streamline production.
With various brands, capacities, and types of bucket fork kits available on the market, it can be difficult to find one that meets your operational requirements while also meeting your quality standards. At ALL Pro Forks, we specialize in providing high quality, durable bucket fork kits to meet your exact needs.
Here’s what you need to know in order to select the correct bucket fork kit for your tractor or machine.
4 Features to Consider Before You Purchase a Bucket Fork Kit for Your Tractor
Before you purchase a bucket fork kit, you need to have a full understanding of your tractor or equipment, knowing its specifications and design compatibilities with other third party components. When choosing a bucket fork, your machine’s capacity and bucket height are two essential factors in determining what you can safely and efficiently use; however, there are other features that must be considered as well.
Here are 4 factors that will impact which bucket fork kit is right for your machine:
- Machine Capacity: The weight your machine can lift is one of the most important factors in determining which bucket fork kit is right for you. If your machine can lift 8,000 pounds and you try to use forks that are rated to lift 5,000 pounds, personal injury and damage to your machine or the load you’re trying to move may occur. We suggest you use pallet forks that exceed your machine’s capacity.
- Bucket Height: The height of your bucket from the bottom (cutting edge) to the top of the bucket is another crucial determination for what size bucket fork kit you need. Each kit will fit buckets up to a certain measurement due to the back height of the forks. The back height of the forks is measured from the bottom of the fork up to where the center of the eye is that’s welded on the top of your fork. So, when your fork is hanging on the shaft that’s held by the hooks on top of the bucket, the forks need to hang down past the bottom (cutting edge) so they don’t swing freely. This helps to receive support from the cutting edge. The weight is distributed evenly, preventing damage to your cutting edge.
- Hookup Style: Will you need J hook or Case hooks? J hooks fit most machinery besides the Case brand and Case hooks fit most Case buckets, with some exceptions. Utility buckets and a few other Case buckets require a different style hook.
- Size of Load: Bucket forks are available in a range of sizes. The size of the bucket forks is dependent on how deep you need to go into the load to move the load safely.
